Downhill skiing: Read About Pittsburgh's review of Seven Springs Ski Resort. Free shuttle from Swiss Mountain Village to/from Seven Springs lodge and slopes runs regularly (8am-2am) during all holidays and every weekend during ski season and for special events (concerts and festivals). Call hotel services (814-352-7777 ext. 5) for free pickup during the week.

Cross-country skiiing: Check with the PA Cross Country Skier's Association (PACCSA) for the most up-to-date information on cross country skiiing in the area. PACCSA maintains the warming hut adjacent to the PA 653 parking area of the Park. Fee may be required on this trail. Weekend equipment rental also available. Laurel Ridge State Park has about 35 miles of trail available for cross-country skiing. Please check with the park office to see which sections are suitable for skiing. A free map is available from the park office.

Snowmobiling: Check with the Laurel Highlands Snowmobile Club for the most up-to-date information on snowmobiling in the area. Seven Springs offers guided snowmobiling tours. There is a ten-mile trail system in Laurel Hill State Park that connects with an over 60-mile trail system in Forbes State Forest. The trail system is open daily for registered snowmobiles after the end of deer season in late December. Trail maps are available at the park office. Special events: Click here for latest Seven Springs event schedule. Annual events include Brewski Festival, Polka Festivals, Irish Festival and Wine/Food Festival.

Swimming: Swiss Mountain community pool is a short walk down the road (open Memorial Day to Labor Day). Laurel Hill State Park (lakeside beach) is a 4-mile drive. Indoor pool at Seven Springs lodge open year-round.

Golf: Take shuttle to Seven Springs Golf Course. Other courses in driving distance.

Tennis: Swiss Mountain community tennis courts (2) are a short walk down the road.

Hiking: Walk the 1-mile Swiss Mountain trail to the ski lodge. Laurel Ridge Trail (Ohiopyle-Johnstown) passes right through Seven Springs ski slopes at Lake Tahoe. Roaring Run Nature Area (accessible from County Line Rd) and Laurel Hill State Park have many hiking trails. Northeast Ohio Backpacking Club has a great site for trail maps and brochures in the tri-state area.

Mountain biking: Many trails are on top of the mountain. Check Allegheny Cycling Association's site for biking info in the area. Blair Bicycle Club based in Altoona may also organize races in the area. The Western Pennsylvania Wheelmen have put together a Bicycle Ride Map package of road routes in Western PA. Contact the bike shops at Seven Springs or Hidden Valley for more information and maps.

Other activities: Seven Springs lodge has bowling, mini-golf, indoor pool, arcade, restaurants and bars open all year round. Horseback riding available at resort and at Double K Stables. Fish in the many lakes, streams and rivers in the area. Visit the Steeler's training camp in August (St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA).

Fall: Autumnfest at Seven Springs Resort every weekend in October. Alpine Slide, Antique Car Show, Craft Show, Hayrides, Petting Zoo & Pony Rides, Scenic Chairlift Rides.
